Western State Hospital, Legal Offenders Unit - Lakewood,
Washington. New eight ward, 158,000 square foot facility for the criminally
insane. Performed study that evaluated the existing 12.47 kilovolt primary
system for adequacy to serve the new facility. Designed secure and non-secure
lighting systems, emergency power distribution, night lighting system, fire
alarm system, automatic lighting controls, and non-emergency power system
power distribution. Designed installation of new emergency power source and
distribution system to comply to DSHS hospital standards
Washington State Reformatory - Monroe, Washington
Power distribution and security lighting revisions
to convert existing facility to closed custody. Was retained for nine
miscellaneous electrical upgrade projects:
- Replace obsolete electrical equipment in gymnasium
- Replace obsolete transfer switches.
- Replace oil transformers
- New electrical system for Training Center
- New electrical system for Loafing Shed
- Baker expansion study
- Waste Treatment Plant emergency generation
- Field House service Replacement
- Hazardous Waste Building electrical service
Federal Detention Center - Sea-Tac, Washington
Work in this new 300,000 square foot federal detention facility included designs
for a highly reliable electrical service utilizing dual 15 kilovolt dual primary
services from separate power company substations. The power distribution system,
emergency generation system, and communication systems were designed to meet
federal detention design standards.
Green-Hill Juvenile Detention (1999) - Chehalis, Washington
$33 million, multi-building campus upgrade.
Developed concepts and design of campus 12.47 kilovolt primary
distribution system to replace obsolete 2400 volt system. Design
of standby emergency power system to serve critical loads and
the complete campus in the event of commercial power loss.
Performed design and quality control review of construction drawings.
