Ada County Juvenile Detention Facility – Boise, Idaho
This 2010 project included the total replacement of all intercom field
stations and supporting infrastructure, and up-grading of the East
Control and West Control officer’s stations for full system redundancy,
and the provision of direct management officer’s stations in the housing
modules. Work included was the upgrading of the touch screen maps to
catch up with architectural changes as well as implementation of new CCTV
system controls from the touch screen system.. Also included is the
replacement of the intercom system head end inclusive of a RAID5, iSCSI
to extend video recording time and include long term recording of all
audio.
Ada County Juvenile Detention Facility - Boise, Idaho
This 2003 project included the total renovation of all security electronics
systems for the original 33-bed facility, the 1996, 50-bed addition,
and all supporting spaces. Systems included custom redundant touch
screen graphic computer systems for duress, audio monitoring, door
control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV system
camera selection at each of the two indirect management control rooms.
LCD touch screen panels were provided at each of the direct management
officers' stations. All systems were fully integrated through the use
of a PLC system with redundant processors and power sources in a
centralized configuration. Also included was an access control (card
reader) system and UPS systems.
Apache County Juvenile Hall - St. Johns, Arizona
This new 15 bed juvenile facility included custom control panels for
integrating door monitoring and control, surveillance television,
intercom and paging. System integration was provided through a PLC
system.
Cochise County Juvenile Hall - Sierra Vista, Arizona
This new 40 bed juvenile detention and courts facility included one
courtroom, and administration and youth program departments. Systems
included custom touch screen graphic computer systems for duress, audio
monitoring, door control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems,
and surveillance camera selection. The system featured an audio
monitoring system for listening-in on selected spaces from the direct
and indirect officers' stations. Each of the systems was fully
integrated through the use of a PLC system. Also included were
courtroom sound systems, visitors intercom systems and television
distribution systems and UPS systems.
Del Norte County Juvenile Hall - Crescent City, California
This new 44-bed juvenile detention facility included multiple
administration areas and youth services departments. Systems included
custom control panels integrated with door control and monitoring, CCTV
system with digital video archiving, duress, and intercom and paging
systems. Other systems included television, visitors' intercom,
UPS, and access control systems.
Fresno County Juvenile Courts Facility - Fresno,
California
This new 6 courtroom, 15,600 square foot, $121 M Juvenile
courts facility includes multiple touch screen graphic computers networked
together and interfaced to a PLC based control system with redundant processors.
The system integrates personal duress, audio monitoring, door control and
monitoring, intercom and paging systems and CCTV system camera selection into
the touch screen graphic computer system. Other systems included UPS systems,
and television distribution and access control systems, and rough-in for a courtroom
sound system.
Galen County Juvenile Detention Facility (2002) – Montana
This new 60 bed facility included custom touch screen
graphic computer systems for duress, audio monitoring, door control and
monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV system camera selection at
the indirect management central control room. The touch screen system also
included control of power, lighting, television, and detainee telephone
circuits. LCD touch screen panels were designed under alternate bid at each of
the direct management officers’ stations. All systems were fully integrated
through the use of a PLC system. Other systems included television
distribution, visitor s intercom, and access control (card reader) systems.
Gila County Juvenile Detention Facility - Globe, Arizona
This facility is a new 25 bed modular juvenile facility. Systems
included control panels for integration of door controls, door
monitoring, duress alarm monitoring, CCTV camera selection, and
intercom and paging system control. Also included was CATV system
distribution audio listen -in, and UPS systems..
Greenhill School, Juvenile Detention Facility - Chehalis, Washington
This $32 million project included the phased replacement of all
existing housing buildings and provision of a new middle/high school,
administration building, and laundry and shop buildings. Systems
included custom control panels for staff stations and the Central
Control Room and each housing building staff station. These control
panels were integrated with the door monitoring and control, intercom,
paging, surveillance television systems, low voltage control of
lighting, power outlets, and the HVAC system. Also included were access
control, fire alarm, perimeter CCTV, and local video origination for
CATV distribution.
Greenhill School, Juvenile Detention Facility - Chehalis, Washington
Work included the upgrading of student housing doors to
electro-mechanical with individual remote door control from indirect
housing staff stations. Each staff station was equipped with custom
control panels and a central touch screen was provided at ITU for
emergency override.
Island County Juvenile Detention Facility - Whidbey Island, Washington
This 40 bed facility includes administration and support spaces.
Systems included a touch screen computer system networked to a PLC
system with redundant processors for the integration and control of
doors, door position monitoring, CCTV camera selection, duress alarm
monitoring, and intercom and paging systems. Elevator cab and domestic
water solenoid valves were also included in the integration of controls
from the touch screen system. Also included was CATV system
distribution, UPS, and data and telephone distribution systems.
Kapolei Judiciary Facility – Oahu, Hawaii
This $165,000,000 facility includes a 14 court room complex designed
for family and juvenile litigation and an separate 84 bed juvenile
detention facility. Systems included custom touch screen graphic
computer systems for duress, audio monitoring, door control and
monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV system camera
selection at the indirect management central control room. The touch
screen system also included control of power, lighting, elevators, and
television circuits. LCD touch screen panels are provided at each of
the new direct management officers’ stations. All systems were fully
integrated through the use of a PLC system. Other systems included a
master (PBX type) intercom system, audio alarming system, CATV
distribution, visitor’s intercom, UPS, Video archival systems, and
access control (card reader) systems. Courts systems included video
arraignment, video visitation, courtroom sound systems including
evidence projection, court recording, and media feeds. Telephone and
data distribution systems were also included.
King County Juvenile Court Replacement – Seattle, Washington
This project consists of a new 15 courtroom courthouse and the partial
renovation of the existing juvenile detention facility Central Control
Room. Systems include a new mulit-node touch screen system connected to
a 100 camera CCTV system, microprocessor based intercom system, and
duress alarm system through a centralized PLC based control system.
Courtroom A/V includes voice re-enforcement, Audio and Video projection,
and touch screen controlled court recording systems, and press feeds.
(This project has been put on hold pending re-funding).
King County Juvenile Detention Center, Partial Renovation – Seattle, Washington
This project consisted of the partial renovation of the existing Central Control Room and Intake Control Room including the provision of new custom designed control panels for the monitoring and control of intake and the new vehicle sallyport areas. New systems included PLC’s, CCTV cameras, video switching and multiplexing equipment, intercom systems, and door and gate monitoring and control systems.
Lewis County Juvenile Detention Security and Fire Alarm Renovation - Chehalis, Washington
Systems included a redundant, centralized PLC system with computer
graphic touch screens for integration of new door controls, door
monitoring, CCTV camera selection, duress alarm monitoring, and
intercom and paging system control. The County's direction was for HK
to provide designs as closely matching Mr. Hopkins' designs completed
for the Jail project as possible.
Marion County Juvenile Hall - Salem, Oregon
This new 60 bed juvenile detention hall includes multiple touch screen
graphic computers net worked together and interfaced to a PLC based
control system with redundant processors. The system integrates duress,
audio monitoring, door control and monitoring, intercom and paging
systems, and CCTV system camera selection into the touch screen graphic
computer system. The touch screen system also can be used for control
of power, lighting, television, and detainee telephone circuits. Other
systems included television distribution and UPS systems.
Oregon Youth Authority, Hillcrest JDH - Salem, Oregon
This
project included a 100 bed expansion to an existing facility in groups
of 25. Each group is housed in a pre-manufactured facility with a 15
year life expectancy. Systems included custom door control integrated
with CCTV, intercom, duress, UPS, and fire alarm systems.
Oregon Youth Authority, MacLaren JDH - Salem, Oregon
This project included a 100 bed expansion to an existing facility in
groups of 25. Each group is housed in a rigid frame tent with a 15 year
life expectancy. Systems included custom door control integrated with
CCTV, intercom, duress , UPS, and fire alarm systems.
Oregon Youth Authority, River Bend Youth Accountability Boot Camp - Burns,
Oregon
This facility new 150 bed juvenile boot camp included custom control
panels for door controls, CCTV, and intercom. System integration is
through a PLC system. The States direction to HK was to design the
systems as close as possible to those designs Mr. Hopkins provided for
the OYA Tillamook Bootcamp project, the OYA Hillcrest Juvenile Hall
Expansion Project, and the OYA MacLaren Juvenile Hall Expansion
Project.
Oregon Youth Authority, Tillamook Bootcamp JDH - Tillamook, Oregon.
This facility is a new 150 bed juvenile bootcamp. Systems included custom control panels for integrating door controls,
CCTV, intercom, and fire alarm systems.
Philadelphia Juvenile Facility - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
This new 150 bed juvenile detention facility includes multiple
touch screen graphic computers networked together and interfaced to a PLC based
control system. The system integrates duress alarms, door control and
monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV camera selection into a touch
screen graphic system for monitoring and control. the system also can be used
for control of power outlets, lighting circuits, television, and telephone
circuits. Other systems included CATV television distribution with local media
origination, CCTV video archiving, and Courtroom Sound Systems.
San Mateo County Juvenile Renovation and Expansion - San Mateo, California
This 300 bed, 30 building expansion of an existing 150 bed juvenile
detention center includes multiple touch screen graphic computers
networked together and interfaced to a PLC based control system. The
system integrates duress alarms, audio monitoring, door control and
monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV system camera
selection into the touch screen graphic computer system for monitoring
and control. The touch screen system also can be used for control of
power outlets, lighting circuits, television, and detainee telephone
circuits. Other systems included CATV/SATV television distribution with
local media origination, CCTV video archiving, UPS, and access control
(card reader) systems.
Solano Juvenile Detention Facility - Fairfield, California

Thurston County Juvenile Justice Center - Olympia, Washington
This new 90 bed juvenile detention and courts facility included four
courtrooms and administration and youth program departments. Systems
included custom touch screen graphic computer systems for duress, door
control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV system
camera selection. Each of the systems was fully integrated through the
use of a PLC system. Also included were courtroom sound systems.
Tohono O'odham Combination Jail / Juvenile Detention Facility - O'odham, Arizona
This
new combination jail/juvenile detention facility includes a graphic
touch screen computer system for integrated door control, CCTV,
intercom and paging, and security systems. Other systems include access
control, and CATV distribution. The systems featured redundant PLC
processors and power supplies in a centralized network.
